About the Book

How Loved You Are is a gentle, inclusive, and reassuring picture book that follows children through the tender moments of growing up — moments of fear, exploration, disappointment, learning, and big feelings.

Through simple, rhythmic language and warm illustrations, the story offers a steady message:
you are loved, you are safe, and you are never alone in hard moments.

Written to be shared between children and caregivers, this book is meant to be read slowly, returned to often, and held close during bedtime, quiet moments, and days when reassurance matters most.

Perfect for storytime, therapy rooms, parent education, and gifting.

Why This Book Exists

This book was written from the intersection of my work as a Psychotherapist for parents and my lived experience.

In my clinical work, I hear a consistent worry from parents:
Am I doing enough? Will my child be okay?

In parenting, I have carried those same questions myself.

How Loved You Are is a response to that shared experience — a reminder that while we cannot protect our children from every hardship, we can offer something enduring: the certainty that they are deeply loved and worthy, no matter what.

As a virtual healthcare practitioner in Ontario I recognize that I work with clients who reside, and also personally reside as a settler on stolen land.

As a resident of Wellington  county I recognize that I am situated on land with multiple Treaties within the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee and this has and continues to be, inhabited by other nations throughout time such as the Attawandaron, Métis and the Inuit.

As a Registered Healthcare Practitioner, I recognize that my field of healthcare has caused significant harm, and continues to oppress and marginalize many peoples through the colonial practices of its history. I am committed to continuous learning about how I can reduce harm and hold space for healing and connection in my personal and professional life.
